Dr. Hacer Aksel was born in Turkey. She graduated from dental school in 2006 with honors, ranking in the top third of her class. Dr. Aksel is a board-certified endodontist with advanced clinical training, academic teaching, and research experience. She completed specialty and PhD training in endodontics at Hacettepe University, followed by a fellowship in regenerative endodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and an endodontic residency at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Aksel has taught and mentored future dentists as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and currently at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry, where she guides students in endodontic diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Aksel’s expertise is backed by recognition from leading professional organizations, reflecting her dedication to advancing the field of endodontics. Her research and academic work have received awards from the American Association of Endodontists, and she remains actively involved in supporting the profession through teaching, publishing, and professional service.

With a comprehensive background in clinical care, research, education, and professional service, Dr. Aksel is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered endodontic treatment guided by the latest scientific evidence. She strives to help each patient feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their care.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Aksel enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and exploring different places through travel.
